Making wellness through horticulture accessible and affordable.
Lou (she/her)
About us
Flora & Ferne’s goal is to make wellbeing through nature and horticulture accessible to more people by bringing small garden and wellness space design and maintenance at an affordable price point.
Our ethos is deep seated in sustainable horticulture and gardening for wildlife; we do not use pesticides, and encourage the use of reclaimed and up-cycled materials where possible.
Lou started her working career as a paramedic, and following a couple of years career break, is following her dream to turn her passion for all things horticulture into something she can share with others. Lou’s knowledge is self taught and she can often be found with her head in a design book or in the library of RHS Harlow Carr.
Lou’s dream is to be able to offer free wellness space creation to a charity organisation, such as a hospice, once a year.
Ferne (Golden Retriever)
Ferne is Lou’s sidekick and horticulture apprentice. Whilst still young, she is very much part of the package and assists Lou with all aspects of her work.
When not at work, Ferne enjoys squeaky toys, good sniffs and hanging out with other dogs.
